Von Duprin’s 98/99 Dogging Indicator provides a new and easy to use device monitoring feature that will allow for easier and more time efficient control of door openings. Today in many schools, offices and retail outlets, exit device doors are being dogged (not latchable) and undogged (latchable) on a regular daily basis. The time spent monitoring
and mechanically changing the status of these devices can consume much of the limited maintenance time available. Von Duprin has an answer to this problem of monitoring
the dogging status.
The Von Duprin 98/99 Dogging Indicator is an easily added exit device feature that provides an illuminated indication of the exit device’s dogging status. The state of the art PCB design monitors the dogging mechanism and provides a visual indicator light at 5 second intervals when the device is in the un-dogged (latch bolt released) condition. This provides maintenance personnel a visual cue of the device’s dogging status from up to 75 feet away. This helps create the safest possible exit device opening, a Von Duprin trademark.
The DI/CDI cover plate assembly can be ordered as a device option or as an easily installed retro-fit kit. The standard DI assembly is designed for hex dogging and the CDI assembly comes with cylinder dogging components. This feature is available in either the 98 (smooth) or 99 (grooved) designs. Three AAA batteries (provided) power the DI feature for up to 1 year under normal conditions.
