Overview
In response to a market need for improved K-12 perimeter security Von Duprin created the Remote Monitoring (RM) option.
In schools with a networked access control system, it is estimated that only half of secondary doors are connected, because the majority of available security funds are focused on the main entrances1. Not surprisingly, over 55% of schools reported that their secondary doors were frequently left unlocked or propped open, with 22% stating that this occurs on a weekly or even daily basis2. This results in vulnerabilities that compromise the building’s everyday security and limits the administration's visibility to compromised openings.
The RM option provides visibility to request to exit (RX), latchbolt monitor (LX) and door position switch (DPS). It is available as a modular kit that can be added to any existing Von Duprin 98/99 or 33A/35A Series device. The RM can be used with RSI connection to the ENGAGE™ gateway for daily schedule reporting.
